The New Dark Ages

This post is outside the usual content only because my heart is so heavy with the recent events that I am not sure where to begin. Racism hurts us all.

In my previous article I wrote about being excited about the lockdown easing, admitting that I had secretly been thinking about fashion and wanting to completely indulge in it once we are allowed to dare I say it, socialise.

This page, seen by a mere handful of people within which I attempt to convey my sadness to others; undoubtedly exists without the possibility of any impact at all. And yet, I am aware of the resounding effect that collective, collboative expression can bring about. I am certain that I am not alone in my heavy heartedness. Does anyone feel the way I do? Then, what are we going to do, and how do we stop this brutality? We are witnessing such frequent overt incidents of racism (the few that make it into the headlines) that I once again hang my head in sadness. What is going on? I am not sure how much more of this I can endure.

I know this is outside of my usual content but I feel this is important and we must talk about it. How, today, are certain people in this country so blatantly seen as lesser in value? How can we still be trapped in such cycles of ignorance and hate?

I want to live in a better world. I want to live on a peace-filled, loving planet, and I would like to believe that this is the way that most of us feel.

May I implore you to consider the injustice that prevails in our society, and how racism prevents us as a people from truly progressing.

I want to end by saying that I value YOU. I consider us equals. I want you to achieve your fullest potential and soar. I want the word racism to be eradicated from the global lexicon because it ceases to be victorious.

I’m just trying to connect with–YOU!

  1. I get your sentiment Bali.
I believe 95% of our society are good and decent.
The 5% who perpetuate evil shit unfortunately make the headlines.
Racists, Pedophiles, Rapists, Murderers, Thieves have existed throughout history and will continue to exist unfortunately.
Unfortunately, we can’t change the world but we can do our very best to be productive citizens and continue to promote the good 95% of our society does every single day………….

    1. Carrie. Thank you for taking the time to respond to my post. Your words resounded in truth. I appreciate your words kindly.

      XO Bali.
